things happening

some incidents from yesterday

one:

in the queue at my local "dollarama" yesterday, the cutest little girl asked my name, in sign language. she was so cute! i wish i knew ASL so i could have spoken to her, instead i had to talk through (what i assume to be) her father, who would translate into sign for her. if nothing else, i left with a smile and i was happy to have my hearing. the kid's alright.

two:

found this change purse outside manic coffee. it's difficult to read, but it's a little hipster jesus change purse. on the back it says: jesus ogles if your frugal. it's funny.

three:
my favourite vietnamese sub shop, ba li 2, upped their prices. it is now $2.25 for a sub. i always have two tofu subs, extra spicy. cost of living rises, wages remain the same, or drop. i earned $21,000 last year, compared to the $50,000 i was making the year before.

four:
so there i was, reader, spadina and dundas, riding along, minding my own business, when lo-and-behold, i see this guy:
his name is mark, and he kick outs the tunes! he's awesome! no arms, no legs, but he still plays the keyboard and can sing like a champion. apparently he's been there for ages, but i've never seen him during the course of my working day. i always love street musicians, and give them money ever opportunity i can. i want this guy to play at my wedding. and, if you click on the picture above, you can check out the bad-ass yellow sticker he has on his keyboard: amen brother! the old-school chinese man just like posing for pictures, i guess.

tomorrow: back to work.

on another note, zero zero frameworks (MOMS) is open for business! get one while the numbers are low and the prices are cheap! the waiting list is already at three!
